Welcome to Theologia et Vita: Where Doctrine and Discipleship Meet

“Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
—1 Timothy 4:16

Welcome to Theologia et Vita, a space devoted to the integration of theology and Christian living. The title, Latin for “Theology and Life,” reflects a deep conviction: that sound doctrine is not an abstract pursuit reserved for the academy, but the lifeblood of faithful and fruitful discipleship. Here, the truths of Scripture are not merely studied; they are applied and lived.

This blog emerges from a lifelong journey marked by God’s redeeming grace, a love for sound doctrine, and a burden to equip others to think clearly and live faithfully. Drawing from nearly three decades of study, ministry, and reflection from behind prison walls where Christ met and transformed me, I now write as a redeemed man in Christ, an aspiring evangelical theologian, and a disciple who seeks to hold fast the pattern of sound words (2 Tim 1:13). You can read a little more of my story on my Amazon author page.

Whether you are a student of theology, a pastor, or a believer earnestly seeking to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, this blog exists to serve you. Topics will range from biblical and systematic theology, apologetics, biblical studies, historical theology, and Christian ethics, all grounded in Scripture and written from a confessional, evangelical Protestant perspective.

Expect posts that are concise yet rich, intellectually rigorous yet pastorally sensitive. You’ll find reflections on biblical and systematic theology, theological method, critiques of doctrinal error, “This Day in Church History” features, practical guides for discipleship, and the occasional polemic, always seasoned with charity, clarity, and conviction.

In a time when the church is often tossed by every wind of doctrine, Theologia et Vita exists to anchor readers in truth that transforms. For theology, rightly understood, always leads to doxology and devotion. Truth must be lived.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. Soli Deo Gloria!
